A Year of Forest School

Written by certified Forest School leaders in England, this book offers a collection of outdoor activities that reflect Europe's Forest School philosophy: "A Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees." The book's activities are arranged according to season. Each set revolves around games, crafts, and outdoor skills, some of which require adult supervision. Activities target older preschoolers to middle school-aged students and can be applied to outdoor education programs and homeschool environments, as well as Forest Schools. While there are references to European species in the book, these can easily be substituted by North American species.
